My initial reaction was that you had captured the lonely mood I was in yesterday. It was likely weather related but it was a strong feeling of isolation. Now that I notice the title, even though I'm thoroughly alone, I must be meeting someone significant if we've chosen such an out-of-the-way rendezvous point.

I can see myself finding this place and waiting for my beloved to appear through the mist, as some fair damsel may have done centuries before...I wonder if the tree is an offspring of the first who stood there?

I'm sure both this place and this tree have their stories to tell. Strange runes carved into stone, initials into bark...

Wow, this is really nice and moody.

As you might have realized from my work, I'm a sucker for a good pencil drawing. Personally, I think good pencil drawing has the potential to evoke the kind of mood black and white photography can, and better still, it can come from our imagination.
